Juliet Hardwicke

Con una formazione in storia dell'arte e una carriera nell'editing e nella produzione di stampe nel settore artistico e culturale, Juliet Hardwicke nutre un profondo interesse per le arti applicate contemporanee, in particolare per la gioielleria e la lavorazione dei metalli.
Il suo percorso di scoperta artistica è iniziato quasi trent'anni fa al Morley College di Londra. Trasferitasi a New York nel 2014, si è immersa nella smaltatura al JCC di Manhattan e, al suo arrivo a Edimburgo nel 2021, ha seguito un corso propedeutico in design del gioiello presso i SilverHub Studios. Attualmente frequenta l'ultimo anno di studi in argenteria e design del gioiello alla Glasgow School of Art.
Juliet trova ispirazione per il suo lavoro nella storia dell'arte e del design, affrontando con delicatezza questioni culturali, sociali, politiche e ambientali e creando oggetti indossabili che stimolano il dialogo.
With a background in art history and a career in editing and print production within the arts and cultural sector, Juliet Hardwicke has a deep interest in contemporary applied arts, especially studio jewellery and metalsmithing.
Her own journey of artistic discovery began almost thirty years ago at Morley College in London. Moving to New York in 2014 she became immersed in enamelling at Manhattan’s JCC, and on arrival in Edinburgh in 2021 took a foundation course in jewellery design at SilverHub Studios. She is now in her final year studying silversmithing and jewellery design at Glasgow School of Art.
Juliet finds inspiration for her work in the history of art and design, subtly addressing cultural, social, political and environmental issues and creating wearable objects that spark conversation.
