Laser-cut stainless steel components, hand finished, silver soldered, ground and polished. Porcelain slip cast in own moulds and high fired. Acrylic bonded with UV adhesive.

A brooch from the Interaction of Light collection captures the atmosphere of its surroundings and responds to changes in lighting. Images from the environment are projected onto the porcelain surface of the jewellery, shifting as the wearer moves and as the light changes. In this way, the piece appears differently in each setting, with the transmitted light image altering, fading, and reappearing. The resulting piece is like a viewing device, drawing the attention of the wearer and observer, offering a new perspective on the world around. The projected image is most visible when the piece is turned towards a window.
