Fragility as a Path, 2024
Concept
Fragility as a Path - Concept
Fragility as a Path explores how trauma and vulnerability foster deep human connections. Like plants in the mother tree
system sharing resources, we buiId bonds through empathy and
support. Through the fissures created by hardship, individuals
reconstruct themselves and redefine their piace within the collective.
The work features over fifty irregular ceramic rings, each crafted
with traditional Chinese crackle glaze and arranged like underground root networks. The cracks symbolize life's ability to find new paths through brokenness, mirroring the way trees connect and communicate through mycelial networks.
More than a depiction of individuai trauma, this work honors
deep connections and collective resilience. Through the mother
tree concept, it reflects how we support and grow together in
difficult times, turning shared hardships into bonds of resilience.
