Participation in contemporary jewelry courses at the Alchimia school in Florence and the Beato Angelico School in Milan, and her exposure to the spring industry, played a decisive role in her development. Her family's entrepreneurial history sparked an interest in technological-industrial products, objects with a novel ornamental purpose. Her recent research focuses on photographic reinterpretation applied to jewellery.
Statement
Laura Visentin - Statement
Inspiration is the motive for every creative act. Personally it derives from a wealth of experiences that I accumulate every day and that my curiosity allows me to store. I believe inspiration is independent of trends and fashion. It often arises when you least expect it and becomes the driving force, almost the spark that then determines the creation od an object.
As a daughter of an eclectic painter and sculptor, I grew up immersed in art and experimentation, exploring different materials such as clay, porcelain, bronze and stones. Before arriving in the world of jewellery, I followed a literary education, graduating in Literature, which enriched my creative vision, allowing me to delve deeper into the narrative and symbolic value of each work. I was lucky enough to attend the Alchimia contemporary jewellery school in Florence, an experience that broadened my knowledge of design and technique, providing me with the tools to explore jewellery as a unique and personal form of expression.
The decisive encounter with two worlds marked my creative evolution: on the one hand, the spring industry, with its advanced technology and innovative approach; on the other, contemporary design, which manages to blend aesthetics and functionality in an extraordinary way. The combination of these elements fueled my desire to create jewellery that is as much artistic works as objects of everyday beauty. Recently, I am devoting myself to goldsmith experiments that combine the processing of photographs using an approach that does not just capture a photographed image but often manipulates color and light to convey emotions, tell intimate stories or express profound concepts.
Every piece of jewellery I create, ultimately, is the result of an encounter between the technical and creative soul, a fusion that allows us to tell stories and reveal the inner geography of those who wear them.
