Statement
ALPHABET Collection
Alphabet is a SYSTEM of chains to be assembled like an alphabet. They are realized through weld-less assembly of modules cut out of thin gold and silver plates.
ALPHABETH is an open series: it can have the infinite formulations of alphabetical associations such as variations in length, materials and colour.
Short CV
CARLA RICCOBONI, jewellery designer and researcher, pioneer of self-production in the 1980s, is considered among the “masters” of the Italian contemporary jewellery scene. The underlying theme of her research is a focus on signs, rhythms and writings. It is expressed through refined geometric sequences like the “ALPHABET” chains, recovering ancient repertoires, such as Arabic-Byzantine patterns of the “VENEZIA” collection and the archetypal symbols of the “MADREFORME” collection.
After closing her business in 2017, her interest focused on research.
She coordinates several collective design experiences for the AGC Association (MULTIPLI SINGOLARI) and for the LAO Art jewellery School in Florence (SEGNI SUL VOLTO).
Her most recent works ”VELI e VOCI” created since 2023, have the voice as their theme, both in a real and metaphorical sense, and explore the relationship between new technologies and traditional techniques.
Carla Riccoboni lives and works in Bassano del Grappa (VI) Italy.
