Short CV

Boglárka Mázsi

Boglárka Mázsi's design practice is rooted in material exploration and a deep curiosity about the dialogue between concept, function, and tactility. She began her journey in ceramics, but an early shift toward working with concrete opened new paths in translating raw, often overlooked materials into objects with poetic resonance.

Her approach is shaped by a diverse educational background—studying in Spain at ESDIR and later in Indonesia through the Darmasiswa scholarship program—experiences that have cultivated an openness to cultural narratives and intuitive making processes. She completed her MA in product design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, where she deepened her interest in experimental design and the relationship between human interaction and object.

Rather than focusing on trends or aesthetics alone, Mázsi designs through a process of attentive observation and hands-on iteration—allowing each material to guide its own transformation. Since 2018, this philosophy has informed her work with OBAI-Concrete, where design becomes a quiet negotiation between form, surface, and structure. She also collaborate through OBAIKO, a design practice that embraces slowness, locality, and emotional connection, translating architectural and design ideas into grounded, tactile realities.

In 2023, after being awarded a second prize at Gioielli in Fermento 20|21 edition, she was entitled to join A Concrete dialogue, a special exhibition project collaborating with Gigi Mariani, at Archivio Negroni Milano during the Milano Design Week.

Boglárka Mázsi lives and works in Budapest.
