Short CV
Stefano Fronza, 1978. As a graduate in Art of metals and Goldsmithing at the School of art «A.Vittoria» (Trento), he designs jewels experimenting techniques and materials at his father's goldsmith workshop while deepening his knowledge of techniques and manufacturing processes at other workshops in Trentino.
In 2000 he is awarded a Scholarship for visual arts and he studies at the Department of Jewelry Design at the Hochschule of Düsseldorf, where he works with Prof. Peter Skubic in particular.
In 2001 he is awarded a second Scholarship and he attends the class of Prof. Erico Nagai at the Summer Academy of Fine Arts (Salzburg). He thereafter spends 2 years in the Netherlands, where his artistic research continues.
In 2004 he resumes his work as goldsmith, creates the first works out of his research and later opens his own workshop in Trento.
His most recent works originate from inspiration turning into a photographic shot, which is when the feeling behind a particular moment becomes a search for color and shapes: the core of his research resides in his “creating by doing”, by means of which instants made of lights and shadows get captured, translated, transformed and forged into jewels.
He tooks part in numerous exhibitions, among the most significant for the artist: at Marijke Studio (Padua), Museo del Gioiello (Vicenza), Fondazione Stelline (Milan) and then those at Oratorio di San Rocco (Padua), Lanng Space (Pechino), at Melting Point (Valencia) and at MAD About Jewelry to MAD - Museum of Arts and Design (New York)
