Simona Materi began her career in 2001 with the idea of exploring the boundaries of contemporary jewelry and design.

Her research has formal and aesthetic roots and particular attention is paid to the "unique piece". The focus is constantly on the contents of contemporary art and the expression of it, through the selection of precious and semi-precious materials and the experimentation of refined craftsmanship techniques.

Her artistic practice has been leading Simona to collective exhibitions and projects that widen from contemporary jewellery to intaglio engraving and contemporary art installations, since the beginning of 2000's, throughout Italy and the international network of AGC Association.

Materi's artistic career is completed by several teaching and lecturing in Jewelery Design courses, with specific attention to transdisciplinary focuses and to the concept of Recycling and Upcycling.

Among other professional experiences, in 2021-2022, she attended Marks on the face, a Seminar/Workshop on co-planning and design by Carla Riccoboni, coordination by Alice Rendon for “LAO” Le arti Orafe - Florence, Italy.
