Yajie Hu è un'artista orafa cinese, attualmente residente nel Regno Unito, dove sta conseguendo un dottorato di ricerca. Le sue opere sono state esposte a livello internazionale, tra cui a TALENTE 2018 durante la Munich Jewellery Week e alla New York Jewelry Week (2018, 2021, 2022). Le sue opere sono state inoltre presentate alla Florence Jewellery Week nel 2022, contribuendo al dialogo globale sul gioiello contemporaneo.
Ha ricevuto numerosi premi internazionali, tra cui il concorso di gioielleria contemporanea Preziosa Young 2019 a Firenze, il Porto Joia Award al Collectiva Meeting 2019 a Porto ed è stata finalista alla decima edizione dell'Arte y Joya International Award a Barcellona. Le sue opere sono presenti nella mostra "Chinese Contemporary Jewelry Design" di Bifei Cao.
Come artista, è naturalmente attratta dal colore e dalle texture, nonché dall'arte come oggetto tangibile e indossabile. Esplora i colori, le texture e le forme di oggetti affascinanti che si trovano in natura. I suoi progetti si basano su forme organiche, che trasforma in pezzi che riflettono la sua estetica. Il suo obiettivo è che i suoi modelli siano indossabili, pur essendo considerati oggetti d'arte.
Yajie Hu is a jewellery artist from China, currently based in the UK, where she is pursuing a PhD. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at TALENTE 2018 during Munich Jewellery Week and at New York Jewelry Week (2018, 2021, 2022). Her work was also featured during Florence Jewellery Week in 2022, contributing to the global dialogue around contemporary jewellery.
She has received several international awards, including the Preziosa Young 2019 contemporary jewellery competition in Florence, the Porto Joia Award at Collectiva Meeting 2019 in Porto, and was a finalist in the 10th edition of the Arte y Joya International Award in Barcelona. Her work is featured in “Chinese Contemporary Jewelry Design” by Bifei Cao.
As an artist, she is naturally attracted to colour and texture, as well as to art as a tangible, wearable object. She investigates the colours, textures, and shapes of intriguing objects found in nature. Her designs are based on organic forms, which she transforms into pieces reflecting her own aesthetic. She aims for her designs to be worn on the body, while also being valued as art objects.
