Sono nata nel 1991 nell'Henan, in Cina, e attualmente vivo a Londra, dove sviluppo la mia attività artistica in uno studio di gioielleria condiviso a Lewes. Mi sono laureata nel 2025 con un Master in Design di Gioielli presso la Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, e prima di allora ho maturato dieci anni di esperienza professionale nel design d'immagine, nel design di moda e nel design di gioielli.
Il mio lavoro trae ispirazione dall'artigianato tessile, concentrandosi sull'interazione tra strumenti, materiali e l'artista. Combinando l'intreccio del metallo con strumenti autocostruiti, traduco la logica dei tessuti in strutture metalliche, catturando la delicatezza dei dettagli della lavorazione manuale e permettendo al materiale stesso di esprimere la propria essenza.
Al centro della mia ricerca c'è la relazione tra strumenti, materiali, corpo e ritmo, evidenziando i valori sensoriali insiti nell'artigianato. Il mio obiettivo è mantenere uno stile di vita interculturale e a ritmo lento, intrecciando le esperienze quotidiane nella mia pratica artistica e coltivando gradualmente un ecosistema creativo che bilanci l'inventiva con la sostenibilità.
"I was born in 1991 in Henan, China, and I am currently based in London, where I develop my personal practice at a shared jewellery studio in Lewes. I graduated in 2025 with an MA in Jewellery Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and before that I accumulated ten years of professional experience across image design, fashion design, and jewellery design.
My work is inspired by textile craft, focusing on the interplay between tools, materials, and the maker. By combining metal weaving with self-made tools, I translate the logic of textiles into metal structures, capturing the delicate detail of hand-making while allowing the material itself to express its own agency.
At the core of my research is the relationship between tools, materials, body, and rhythm, highlighting the sensory values embedded in craft. I aim to maintain a cross-cultural, slow-paced way of life, weaving everyday experiences into my artistic practice, and gradually cultivating a creative ecosystem that balances inventiveness with sustainability."
