Ariel Lavian

Ariel Lavian, artigiano, curatore e docente, è nato nel 1983 in Israele. Si è laureato presso l'Accademia di Arte e Design Bezalel nel 2012 (B.F.A., Dipartimento di Moda e Gioielleria), conseguendo successivamente un Master in design concettuale presso la stessa istituzione nel 2016. Lavian ha esposto in numerose mostre personali e collettive in tutto il mondo. Le sue creazioni sono state acquisite a livello internazionale, sia da collezionisti privati che da prestigiosi musei, tra cui lo SCAD Museum of Art in Georgia (Stati Uniti), l'Eretz Israel Museum di Tel Aviv e il Design Museum di Holon, in Israele. Dal 2018, Lavian è ambasciatore dell'Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) per Israele. Nel 2019, ha ricevuto il Design Award dal Ministero della Cultura israeliano. Nel 2020, Lavian si è classificato secondo alla Settimana del Design di Venezia nella sezione gioielli e ha ricevuto una nomination per i prestigiosi premi Friedrich-Becker e KOGEI. Nel 2021, Lavian ha vinto il premio Milano Jewelry Week al RJW. Nel 2022, Lavian ha fondato e curato la Biennale di Gioielleria Contemporanea in Israele. Sempre nel 2022, Lavian ha vinto il premio Special Selected Work alla 22ª e 23ª edizione del Korea International Jewelry Design Competition. Nel 2023, ha ottenuto il premio Jurors’ Choice al Lewton-Brain Foldforming Competition.
Ariel Lavian, a craftsman, Curator, and Educator, was born in 1983 in Israel. Graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in 2012 (B.F.A, Fashion and Jewelry Department), followed by a Master's Degree in conceptual design in 2016 at Bezalel. Lavian has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world. His designs have been acquired internationally, both by private collectors as well as selected museums, including the SCAD Museum of Art, Georgia, United States, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv and the Design Museum, Holon, Israel. Since 2018, Lavian has been appointed Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) Ambassador for Israel. In 2019, Lavian received the Design Award from the Ministry of Culture, Israel. In 2020, Lavian won second place in Venice's Design Week in the jewelry selection and the galleries award and was nominated for the prestigious Friedrich-Becker and KOGEI awards. In 2021, Lavian won the Milano Jewelry Week award at RJW. In 2022, Lavian founded and curated the Biennale of Contemporary Jewelry in Israel.
