Isabella's artistic practice is rooted in her fascination with history, belief, and the human experience, which she explores through fine and contemporary jewellery. She founded Isabella Bedlington Jewellery in 2023 after graduating with first-class honours in Silversmithing and Jewellery from the Glasgow School of Art. Her degree show collection, "Contemplating the Afterlife," earned her awards and exhibition opportunities, marking the beginning of her journey.
At the core of Isabella's practice is the torus, a circular form symbolizing the cycle of death and rebirth. This shape reflects the belief in the possibility of a previous existence continuing into the present, driving her creative process.
Through her jewellery, Isabella aims to create pieces that reflect the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth, connecting the wearer to a deeper understanding of their place in this cycle. Each handcrafted piece invites contemplation of the human journey and the stories we carry through time.
