Baptiste Martin
Baptiste Martin (Nantes, 1987) is a French visual artist working between Paris and Berlin. His practice spans painting, installation, and digital art, with a particular focus on themes of identity, memory, and perceptual layering.
Deeply influenced by phenomenological philosophy and the relationship between real and imagined space, Martin’s work often involves overlapping planes, transparencies, and reflective materials that actively engage the viewer in the construction of meaning.
After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, Martin has exhibited in numerous independent spaces and institutions, including the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Kunsthalle Basel, and MAXXI (Rome). He has also participated in artist residencies in Japan, Canada, and Iceland.
With a visual language that moves between abstraction and material presence, Martin investigates the subtle threshold between what is revealed and what remains concealed.
