The forms of her sculptural works, which recall natural elements – the rain, the sun, the stars and sound waves – bend and reshape themselves, under their own gentle weight, and they react, vibrating, to their specific ambient conditions like the jagged landscape of a lightning-filled sky, or moonscapes in which any human presence is barely perceptible.

Le forme delle sue opere scultoree, che richiamano elementi naturali – la pioggia, il sole, le stelle, onde sonore – si piegano e si modellano sotto il loro lieve peso e reagiscono vibrando alle condizioni specifiche dell’ambiente circostante, ricordando il paesaggio frastagliato di un cielo saettante o scenari lunari in cui la presenza dell’uomo è appena percettibile.

Her practice circumscribes both visual and aural in the form of sculpture, collective walks and installations. Her sculptures suggest natural, primordial forms which crystalize, fused and moulded by the artist herself in alchemy’s symbolic materials – gold and silver –, silently echoing events celestial, terrestrial and timeless.

La sua pratica racchiude lavori visivi e sonori, quali sculture, installazioni e performance collettive. Le opere richiamano forme naturali primordiali cristallizzate nei materiali alchemicamente simbolici dell’oro e dell’argento, fusi e plasmati dall’artista stessa, che echeggiano silenziosamente eventi celesti e terrestri non collocabili nel tempo.

In Escoval’s sculptures, the ideal forms of the noblest of metals are combined with the primeval shapes of volcanic rocks, revealing an endless chain of connections uniting all states of matter, and the essence of the act of aesthetic creation in which the artist is both author – faber – and receptor, transforming and transfiguring the matter that surrounds her.

Nelle sculture, le forme ideali dei metalli più nobili sono accostate alle configurazioni ancestrali di pietre vulcaniche, disvelando la catena ininterrotta che unisce tutti gli stati della materia e rivelando l’essenza della creazione estetica in cui l’artista è sia autore, faber, sia recettore, che muta e trasmuta la materia che lo circonda.
